System Overview

PHANTOM X is a mobile scanning solution housed in a standard van — enabling rapid X-Ray screening of vehicles and cargo at any location without fixed infrastructure. The system employs advanced Backscatter technology for detailed, sharp imaging that surpasses conventional X-Ray in detecting concealed threats and contraband on vehicle surfaces and within cargo.

Unlike transmission systems that require the target to pass through a fixed portal, PHANTOM X drives alongside stationary vehicles in Motion Scan Mode — or operates as a stationary portal when deployed at a checkpoint. This dual-mode capability gives operators flexibility no fixed system can match.

Backscatter Imaging — What the Operator Sees

Backscatter technology detects radiation reflected from the target surface — uniquely effective for organic and low-density threats that transmission imaging can miss. AI-driven processing flags weapons, explosives and contraband in real time.

How PHANTOM X Works

Two operating modes, one van — deployable to any location within hours, without civil works or fixed infrastructure.

Mode 01 · Motion Scan

The Van Scans
While Moving.

In Motion Scan Mode, PHANTOM X drives slowly alongside a stationary vehicle or queue of vehicles at 1 to 10 km/h. The Backscatter X-Ray source emits a beam from the van's scanning side, and reflected radiation is captured by detector arrays — producing a continuous side-profile image of the target.

The operator monitors the real-time scan image from inside the van or via remote link. AI-driven analysis flags suspicious geometries and material signatures immediately. No target vehicle needs to move, stop at a portal or cooperate in any way.

Mode 02 · Portal Mode

Fixed Checkpoint
Deployment.

In Portal Mode, the van is positioned at the roadside and target vehicles drive past the scanning side at low speed. PHANTOM X functions as a temporary portal scanner — delivering full-vehicle side scans without any permanent installation.

The system can be set up and operational within minutes of arrival at any site. When the operation is complete, it drives away. No trace left behind.

Step 03 · Backscatter Imaging

Detects What
Transmission Misses.

Backscatter technology measures radiation reflected from the target surface — unlike transmission X-Ray, which measures radiation passing through. This makes PHANTOM X uniquely effective for detecting low-density organic threats: narcotics, explosives and smuggled persons concealed within vehicles or against the body.

AI-driven and conventional image processing methods run simultaneously. Detected signatures for weapons, explosives and ammunition are flagged in real time and ranked for operator review.

Backscatter vs. Transmission X-Ray

Two fundamentally different detection principles — each with distinct operational strengths. Knowing which to deploy is the difference between finding a threat and missing it.

PHANTOM X — Backscatter
  • Measures reflected radiation from target surface
  • Highly effective for organic materials — narcotics, explosives
  • Van-mounted — fully mobile, no fixed infrastructure
  • Target vehicle stays stationary — covert capability
  • Personnel concealment detection
  • Lower dense-metal penetration vs LINAC transmission
TITANSON — Transmission (LINAC)
  • Measures radiation transmitted through the full vehicle
  • Maximum steel penetration — full container depth
  • High throughput — up to 100 trucks/hr in Portal Mode
  • Dual-energy material discrimination — organic / metal / mixed
  • Fixed installation — permanent site required
  • Less effective for low-density surface-level threats

Where PHANTOM X Operates

Designed for operations where fixed infrastructure doesn't exist — or where covert capability and rapid relocation are mission-critical.

Temporary Checkpoints

No civil works, no advance notice. PHANTOM X arrives at any road, border crossing or entrance point and is operational within minutes.

Portal Mode preferred No infrastructure needed

Surge & Contingency Capacity

When a fixed checkpoint is overwhelmed or offline, PHANTOM X provides immediate additional scanning capacity — deployed from any staging location.

Motion Scan preferred Rapid relocation

Covert Vehicle Scanning

Motion Scan Mode allows PHANTOM X to scan a vehicle without the driver's awareness — driving alongside parked or queued vehicles as a plain-looking commercial van.

Motion Scan Mode Low-profile operation

Remote Borders & Events

Where fixed systems cannot be installed — remote land borders, large-scale events, disaster relief sites, military forward areas — PHANTOM X provides full vehicle scanning capability.

Self-contained system Both modes available
